One of the most intelligent and affectionate breeds of dogs, the coton is extremely non - aggressive and emotional especially with its masters and owners. Though extremely vocal and noisy when playing and having fun, it sometimes displays shyness and is extremely cautious especially in the company of new people or new dogs, and also in new situations. Its attachment to the people it lives with is so strong that it can result in anxiety on separation. Highly interactive and energetic, the coton is a breed that is easily trained. They are more amicable when praised, and training coton puppies is easier done by praising them than by punishments or reprimands

The coton breed is extremely attractive to look at with a long coat of hair, which is either white or the salt ‘n’ pepper look, which is a combination of white and black hair and its texture resembles human hair. The coton puppies are very popular with people as they are hypo allergic and hence compatible as pets as the hair does not shed. Very similar to the poodles, the coton puppies are generally a very healthy breed. Maintaining its sheath of fur includes grooming on a daily basis and a bath at least once a month. Physical exercise of the coton breed includes an exercise of a short and brisk walk everyday. The coton puppies would definitely enjoy a game session any time or any day and also has the energy and stamina for long walks and hikes.
